Wheaton College (MA) Rugby

Started in 1997, Wheaton Men’s rugby competes in the Division III level of the New England Rugby Football Union’s central division. The main season takes place in the fall semester during the months of October and November, but the team also plays a spring season against teams not necessarily in their conference. The academic performance of its players is a priority for the Lyons and so participation on the team is never encouraged while a team member is having difficulty with classes. That being said, the Lyons are a tightly knit brotherhood both on and off the pitch and support each other through all sorts of adversity. Walk-on players are welcomed and encouraged to join the team at any point in time, as they make up a crucial part of Lyon’s Rugby.
